About Me

My skills include researching and analyzing the operational strategy of companies in Japan, conducting various presentations to large groups of people, and managing a number of web based projects.

Currently, I am working on my MBA and will be finishing in June 2010. I work as the Director of Instructional Technology for the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business Entrepreneurship Program. In this position I develop, design and program open courseware for an online learning environment. On top of my commitments at Utah State University, I am directly involved with a research group based out of Portland, OR. and headed by Norman Bodek of PCS Press. In this group, we are analyzing current practices of Lean Manufacturing in Japan today. We communicate and learn biweekly from Shigehiro Nakamura of JMA. Our current project involves learning and implementing into US companies the Production Technology MAP that has been created by many of todays most successful Japanese companies.

While working towards my bachelors degree in sociology I developed a strong background in research where I was provided many opportunities to participate in a variety of research projects using statistical regression analysis. Over the past several years I have also worked as an Audio Engineer, Graphic Designer, and Photographer. Through these experiences I have become proficient with Logic Pro, Pro Tool, Reason 4.0, Final Cut, Soundtrack Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Indesign, and Flash. I am also proficient with Microsoft Office and Apple’s iWork.

The strategy of building a competitive workforce through diversity and skill is how I can fit into the business world. When asked to describe my greatest asset, I respond by saying, “It is my ability to learn and improve quickly.”
